by the closest margin of victory ever seen in the Wainfleet Fantasy Hockey League, team pOOp took the Stanley Cup! Winning by just 1 goal, pOOp was given a run for their money by Sugar Ray Emery but, in the end, they just weren't strong enough for the machine that is the pOOp.
The management at team pOOp would now like to take this time to thank the players who played so tirelessly the entire season, who took the hits and gave them back, who hit the top corner and the 5 hole, and who made those awesome gloves saves and blocker stops!
To Jarome Iginla, our leading scorer, you are fabulous! Evgeni Malkin, I'm glad we went out on a limb and trusted our instincts that you would be an awesomely high scoring rookie. To the Sedin twins, I'm sorry we tried to ship you out at the beginning of the season, but I'm glad nobody wanted you (although Lecavalier and St Louis would have been awesome to have) To Wade Redden, I believed in you all season because I love you, but you really stunk it up this year. To Ryan Smyth, you were doing so well until you chose to be traded to the Islanders. And then look what you did, you little jerk. You beat the Devils and now the Leafs are out of the play-offs. You make pOOp mad.
Roberto Luongo, you sir, are a pleasure to have as a goalie. Congratulations on your fantastic record breaking season. Cam Ward, eh, you did alright.
In conclusion, I had a really great time playing fantasy hockey this year, I don't know what I'm going to do in the off season not having a team to set :(
Thank you to all my fellow Wainfleet Fantasy Leaguers. Mike, I'm happy I beat you, really, this is an amazing and glorious feeling. I feel like the queen of the fantasy hockey world. I'm not going to comfort you when you cry yourself to sleep tonight, but maybe tomorrow night I will. Damien, our little protege, you make your Aunt Karrie proud! Mark, it was a pleasure beating you. Steve and Chris, I'm sorry you guys came in 5th and 7th place respectively, but that's what you get for trying to play a Canadian game. Chris, thank you for setting your team. And finally to T-17, you suck. Seriously, thanks for not playing ever and stealing my Sidney. I hate you.
