tales from the litterbox

A plethora of unwanted facts, or a wealth of useless knowledge. Maybe just everyday oddities. Will I be crafty enough to pull it all off?

riverdance

I bought my mom two tickets to Riverdance for her birthday, and today we went to the afternoon show at Shea's. It was fantastic, I almost wanted to get out of my seat and join them, but being that the people in the audience paid to see the professionals and not myself, I stayed put. It got me to thinking that I wish I could dance like that, with lightening fast footwork and such grace. Much to my surprise, the show also consisted of beautiful vocals, wonderful instrumentals and many more types of dance besides the typical Irish fare you would think. I would definitely recommend treating yourself to a production of Riverdance, if the opportunity arises.

As I was watching the show, I was also reminded of summers gone by spent on the court playing a little game we invented called Riverdance tennis. Yes, it's just as you would imagine it to be, only so much better. I can't wait to break out my irish tapping shoes and give the beat down to my friend Theresa this summer. And to any others who would like to challenge me in a game of Riverdance tennis, it would be my pleasure to do a jig on your face Michael Flatley style.

Why is it called Riverdance?
